uses a layered architecture on the Microsoft platform using XML, XSLT and .NET
Framework 2.0 components.
System 7 is a
platform for creating large-scale web applications. Its modular
architecture allows us to assemble the features you need, the way you
want them... and to leave out the modules you don't need right now.
Before we start configuring your system we work with you to analyse your project and define the best
solution, taking into account the needs of your customers, your business
environment and your data.
Modules
Self-service ad booking
Using web forms, your users can create, edit and modify their ads
for publishing in web and print. You choose the data fields, business
rules, whether or not a user must log in first, how many photos, pricing
rules and so on. Rosetta offers both full-service solutions (for your
call center) and self-service solutions. Or a hybrid mix that offers
both: Rosetta's "proxy ads" workflow lets you build a new
database of ads fast and at the same time introduce new customers to
self-service ad bookings. For some newspaper customers who need
web-to-print bookings we create a PDF
for print (100% wysiwyg including H&J and dynamic pricing) plus XML job
tickets.

Browser-based ad checking
Browser-based tools let your personnel select and check ads efficiently, re-classify
or reject ads with a few clicks. You can manage both metadata and
ad-layout in one WYSIWYG screen, working in a collaborative
workflow (checkin/checkout of files) with full version
control.

Fast, rich
searching
Users want results fast and we offer a range of services to make
searching more effective. We fine tune the search interface according to
your data. Then we enable user-friendly features like saved searches,
clustered results, search-in-search, automated email/SMS alerts, etc.

Importing external data
Whether it's improving flat text data by automatically
detecting make and model of cars, changing abbreviations or indexing
graphical display ads so that the text is searchable, we have built an
extensive toolset to make your ads work better on the web even if they
come from external sources that don't store rich data (legacy newspaper
systems, dealer inventory files, directory databases).

Category management
We give you the tools to define and manage multiple trees of
categories to any level. Plus, you can assign
keywords to categories so that, for example, all ads in the
cars section respond to a search for the words ‘car’ or
‘auto’ (they usually don’t have those words in the
text but our studies of user behaviour have shown that web
users tend to search for those words.) System 7 is also
flexible in the hierarchical view of categories: you can
assign multiple parents as well as multiple children to any
category.
Publication management
A simple tree structure is your interface for managing the
essential building blocks of your publications, editions,
issues, … Rosetta System 7 lets you manage all your sites,
email publications or printed publications.
Business and Pricing Rules
Business Managers have real-time control through their
browser to every aspect of pricing, upselling, discounts and
packages. This unique and flexible interface gives you
the freedom to exploit the system’s commercial power. Any
attributes of an ad or an advertiser can be combined to form
the basis of a pricing rule.
Ad Text Rules
Using Regular Expressions, system adminstrators control the parseing rules, text filters (eg
obscenity filters) and automatic text generation features.
These rules can be applied real-time during online ad entry
or during import from external sources such as output from
newspapers and magazines.
Message management
Rosetta System 7 sends notifications and confirmations by
multi-part email and/or SMS text messages. Message Management is in fact a complete
publishing environment for events-based and rules-based
messages and includes powerful “mail-merge” sty;e placeholders
combined with WYSIWYG previews.
Transaction management
Search, list, view and check all financial transactions.
Site managers can view all customer activity and recent
spending and select transactions for export to third party
systems and accounts packages, using XML data exchange
formats.
Documentation
Detailed documentation in User Guides are provided to all
our customers. These include helpful tips, screenshots and links
to online references where appropriate. By publishing all documentation
online Rosetta System 7 ensures that information is always
up-to-date while reducing costs and waste associated with
bulky printed manuals.
