Launched in October 2002, DienstMAKKERS.nl (the name means “service pals”) is the second site published by Rosetta in the Netherlands and based on the SchoolBANK concept. At SchoolBANK, you can find your old school friends. At DienstMAKKERS, you can find your old friends from the military. 

To create the site, Rosetta designed and built a database containing every unit of the Dutch military services (including navy, army, air force, and special UNPROFOR forces). 

Guerrilla marketing

The site launch was supported with guerrilla marketing, a technique that uses the power of the web and email to build a buzz around the brand. This resulted in a rapid build of awareness among the target group despite no marketing budget. The site is fast, reliable and efficient, and is operated by 1 member of personnel. DienstMAKKERS enjoys a loyal following among ex-military personnel.
